Stream Deck Integration
Callie has native support for Elgato Stream Deck devices. Connect your Stream Deck before launching Callie for the best experience.
Connection
Section titled “Connection”Callie detects Stream Deck devices automatically on launch. The Stream Deck mirrors the current page of the Callie clip grid.
Layouts
Section titled “Layouts”Callie supports multiple Stream Deck layouts:
- Stream Deck Mini — 3×2 grid
- Stream Deck Standard — 5×3 grid
- Stream Deck XL — 8×4 grid
- Stream Deck+ — 2×4 grid
Choose the matching layout in Preferences → Stream Deck. Newer hardware revisions are recognised automatically: Stream Deck MK.2 (including the Scissor Keys variant) uses the Standard 5×3 layout, and Mini MK.2 uses the Mini 3×2 layout.
Orientation
Section titled “Orientation”Mounting the deck vertically or upside-down? Set Orientation in Preferences → Stream Deck to 0°, 90°, 180°, or 270° and the button image (and page mapping) rotates to match. Portrait mounting works the same way on the desktop layout.
Button Appearance
Section titled “Button Appearance”Stream Deck buttons mirror the desktop clip cards: clip color, name, output badge, and playing/progress indicators — including the barber-pole ring on playing clips and gang colors — all match what you see on screen.
Clip names, colors, and shortcut keys are rendered on Stream Deck buttons. Long names (9+ characters) can be:
- Truncated — cut to fit.
- Scroll — animate continuously across the button.
- Bounce — ping-pong left and right.
Set this in Preferences → Stream Deck → Text Effect, with Text Animation Speed for the Scroll and Bounce effects.
Latch UI Page
Section titled “Latch UI Page”Enable Latch UI page to Stream Deck in Preferences → Stream Deck to keep the software grid and the Stream Deck in sync: the deck follows the GUI page, and turning pages on the deck moves the GUI to the same page.
Match GUI Layout on Connect
Section titled “Match GUI Layout on Connect”Enable Match GUI layout on connect in Preferences → Stream Deck to have Callie switch the GUI layout to match a Stream Deck automatically when one is plugged in.
Brightness
Section titled “Brightness”Adjust Stream Deck brightness in Preferences → Stream Deck.
Changing Pages
Section titled “Changing Pages”Page navigation uses the bottom-left and bottom-right buttons of each Stream Deck page:
- Hold the bottom-left button for about half a second to go to the previous page.
- Hold the bottom-right button for about half a second to go to the next page.
Dedicated PREV / NEXT page-turn buttons are shown by default; disable them with Show page-turn buttons in Preferences → Stream Deck if you’d rather have the full grid for clips. Holding a bottom-corner button still turns the page even when they’re hidden.
These corner buttons can still hold regular clips, but a long press will change pages instead of triggering the clip. Playlists cannot be placed on these navigation slots.
Button Holds
Section titled “Button Holds”- Short press any clip button to play or stop it.
- Hold for 0.5 seconds or more on the bottom-left or bottom-right navigation buttons to change pages.
- Hold a playing playlist button for 1 second or more to stop the playlist instead of triggering play/stop.
Troubleshooting
Section titled “Troubleshooting”- Stream Deck not detected — close other apps using the Stream Deck (especially Elgato Stream Deck Companion), then restart Callie. Callie shows an alert if another application is blocking the device. After you kill the Elgato software, Callie waits about 10 seconds before the warning banner clears and the deck becomes available — give it a moment before relaunching.
- Buttons are blank — check the selected layout matches your device or brightness is not 0%
- Laggy response — reduce brightness or disconnect unused Stream Deck devices.
